South Carolina Senator Sandy Senn reached out to the university administration challenging all universities in South Carolina to have Narcan available on campus. Narcan is an overdose reversal drug that is non-addictive and not harmful. In response to the senator’s challenge, the administration asked Student Health Services to implement Narcan on campus. Student Health Services partnered with a Master of Public Health (MPH) class, HS 635 Health Education and Promotion. For the MPH students, this project was an experiential learning opportunity while also fulfilling the request of Senator Senn.
The students developed a training video on how to use Narcan.
